<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage device which allows efficient access to a storage medium, and a control method of the same. <P>SOLUTION: The storage device for writing and reading data to/from a storage medium includes: a storage drive for writing and reading data to/from a loaded storage medium; a control unit for allocating a plurality of volumes to the storage medium and executing control of writing the data of each volume to the storage medium and control of reading it from the storage medium; and a storage unit for storing management information including information indicating a use frequency of each volume. The control unit executes rearrangement control of selecting the volume of a rearrangement object from the plurality of volumes allocated to the storage medium on the basis of the management information, allocating the volume of the rearrangement object to a storage medium of a rearrangement destination different from the storage medium, and moving the data of the volume of the rearrangement object to the storage medium of the rearrangement destination. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
