<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus which has a high capacity of cleaning a nozzle face. <P>SOLUTION: A wiping device 100 that wipes out the nozzle face 33 includes a wiping pad 120 rotating around the axis intersecting the nozzle face 33 at right angles and wipes out the nozzle face 33 by bringing the wiping pad 120 into contact with the nozzle face 33 while being rotated. Thereby the device can wipe the nozzle face 33 in many directions and can effectively prevent deterioration of a liquid-repellent film due to wiping only in the same direction and forcing of sticking matter into a nozzle.
