The invention relates to a radio protocol for communicating data between a meter device (1) and a communication network (75), said meter device (1) being provided with a meter device identification (83) for identifying said meter device (1), wherein said radio protocol comprises: - a reduced part of said meter device identification (84), and - a data field (62), and wherein a full meter device identification (83) of said meter device (1) can be determined on the basis of a set of identification elements, said set of identification elements comprising at least: - said reduced part of said meter device identificatien (83), and - at least one information element obtained from a data source external to said meter device (1). The invention furthermore relates to an identification computer device and a meter device adapted for operating in accordance with the above mentioned radio protocol, and a method for communication between a meter device and a communication network in accordance with the above mentioned radio protocol. |
