<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency in using a bus in reading compression data from a memory without deteriorating the quality of data to be obtained by extending the compression data. <P>SOLUTION: An image processor 10 includes a compression part 12, a sub-block selection part 16, an image processing part 18, and an extension part 17. The compression part 12 compresses the input bit stream of image data including multiple blocks by predetermined number of block units and generates compression data. The sub-block selection part 16 selects at least one or more sub-blocks that include request areas to be image processing objects and are smaller than the blocks from the compression data. The extension part 17 extends the sub-blocks and generates extension data.
