<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an individual identification device for applying plane-shaped taggant (fine grains) having predetermined property to an article, and for highly accurately identifying each article on the basis of distribution positions of the taggant. <P>SOLUTION: Taggant is arranged at random on a base material of each article, each article is optically read by a scanner or the like, and the pixel number (first pixel number) of taggant and the feature point of taggant are extracted and stored as reference feature point data. The article to be identified is read by the above mentioned similar method, and a taggant candidate area having the pixel number which does not approximate the predetermined pixel number (first pixel number) of taggant is removed as a noise from the extracted taggant candidate area. Afterwards, the feature point of the taggant candidate area of the object article is extracted. Then, data of the extracted feature point of the object article are compared with the stored reference feature point data so that whether or not the article to be identified and a reference article are the same individual can be determined. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
