<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum brake having a shoe clearance automatic adjusting mechanism having a temperature sensing deforming member to which frictional heat of a brake shoe and a rotary drum is quickly transmitted as compared with a conventional member and which restrains an automatic adjustment of a shoe clearance without directly engaging with an adjusting lever. <P>SOLUTION: The temperature sensing deforming member 66 is fixed to an end part on the brake shoe 18 side of a strut 52, and the frictional heat of a brake drum 12 and the brake shoe 18 in braking is quickly transmitted by comparing with the conventional shoe clearance automatic adjusting mechanism in which the temperature sensing deforming member 120 is arranged in a central part of a strut 112. When the temperature sensing deforming member 66 is deformed due to a temperature rise, since the strut 52 is pressed in a direction to approach the brake shoe 20, even if the brake shoes 18 and 20 are expansively opened, the temperature sensing deforming member 66 prevents the strut 52 from moving in the direction to approach the brake shoe 18, and restrains the automatic adjustment of the shoe clearance without directly engaging with the adjusting lever 54. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
