<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a touch panel controller which achieves both high precision accuracy and reduction of operational load. <P>SOLUTION: The touch panel controller is provided with: acquisition means for repeatedly acquiring operation coordinates to the touch panel and a time of day of operation when the operation is performed; calculation means for calculating operating speed of the touch panel on the basis of the operation coordinates and time of day of operation acquired by the acquisition means; and control means for controlling an acquisition interval between acquisitions of the operation coordinates and the time of day of operation by the acquisition means on the basis of the operating speed calculated by the calculation means.
