<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid coating failure caused by detecting contact with a nozzle and a work in the coating work as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: The high viscosity fluid coating apparatus includes at least a nozzle 12 capable of discharging a high viscosity fluid. The nozzle 12 includes a cylinder portion 16, a gap forming portion 18 which is arranged in the inner periphery of the cylinder portion 16 and forms a gap 17 between the discharge side 16a of the cylinder portion 16 and this cylinder portion, and a coupling portion 20 which couples the cylinder portion 16 and the gap forming portion 18 through an insulator 19.
