<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a load on a user's hand and wrist, and to sensitively transmit fine roughness on a road surface, a feeling of materials, or the like, to the user. <P>SOLUTION: The walking stick (7) has a grip part (1) attached at the upper end of a shaft part (4) and a ferrule (6) attached to the lower end thereof. The ferrule (6) is formed of a high strength organic fiber-reinforced resin material. In the high strength organic fiber-reinforced resin material, short fibers made of high strength organic fibers are distributed in a synthetic resin material.
