<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder for a battery electrode offering both high peel strength between a collector and active material particles and high bonding strength between the active material particles. <P>SOLUTION: The binder for a battery electrode contains polymer particles with a core-shell structure, the glass-transition temperature of a first polymeric material forming the cores of the polymer particles is higher than the glass-transition temperature of a second polymeric material forming the shells, and the gel content in the first polymeric material is higher than the gel content in the second polymeric material. The gel content in the first polymeric material is preferably in the range of 50 to 80 mass%, and the gel content in the second polymeric material is preferably lower than 50 mass%. The glass-transition temperature of the first polymeric material is preferably equal to or higher than 0°C, and the glass-transition temperature of the second polymeric material is preferably lower than 0°C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
