<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of suppressing the floating of a rear end portion in a conveying direction of a recording material with a higher accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a photoreceptor drum which is rotatably disposed and holds an image on the outer peripheral surface; a transfer drum which is rotatably disposed so that the outer peripheral surface faces the outer peripheral surface of the photoreceptor drum and transfers the image held at a transfer part by the photoreceptor drum; a front end gripper which rotates in synchronization with the transfer drum and holds a front end portion in the conveying direction of the recording material conveyed to the transfer part; and a paper suppressing part 231 for suppressing a rear end portion in the conveying direction of the recording material held by the front end gripper from floating which is arranged opposing to the outer peripheral surface of the transfer drum and can move relatively to the transfer drum. The paper suppressing part 231 has a width in the rotation shaft direction of the transfer drum and can face the recording material, and among areas capable of facing the recording material, an area facing the rear end portion in the conveying direction of the recording material is larger than an area not facing the rear end portion of conveyed paper. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
