PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow correct understanding of a context by distinguishing a similar sound, from the recognition object sound, which hinders understanding of the context of sound.

SOLUTION: A sound determination system comprises: sound characteristic measurement means 101 for measuring a sound characteristic based on sound from a sound source in a space in which sound collecting means is arranged by using sound data collected by one or more sound collection means; and a similar sound determination means 102 for determining whether the collected sound is the recognition object sound or the similar sound by determining whether sound characteristic measured by the sound characteristic measurement means 101 matches the sound characteristic of the recognition object sound.
