The guide drum of a helical-scan, obliquetrack tape recorder has lateral guides for the tape 6 in the form of hardened steel hook-form members 7, adjustably clamped with reference to transverse elongate slots 12 in the guide surface and extending into the tape path, which serve to guide the members 7 during adjustment. The members 7 may be held by clamp-plates 9 and screws 10, Figs. 1, 2, or the drum may be radially extended by portions 15, Fig. 4, clamp-screws 17 wedging the members 7 into V-form grooves 16. The members 7 may be placed against one or both tape edges, and in the latter case may be staggered longitudinally of the tape. |
