摘要 <p>Readily dispersible pigment preparations are obtained by mixing and thereby reacting (a) an aqueous solution of a water-soluble salt of di-, or tetrahydro abietic acid and/or of a partial esterification product of said acids, the solution being free from fatty acids or their salts, and (b) an aqueous solution of a water-soluble salt of a metal of Group II or III of the Mendeleef Periodic Table and an acid addition salt of an aliphatic amine, in which at least one of (a) or (b) contains in suspension fine pigment particles, to produce a precipitate of mixed metal resinate and N-substituted ammonium resinate free from fatty acid which forms a coating on each pigment particle present. Inorganic pigments which may be thus treated include TiO2, ZnO, ZnS, BaSO4, C black, iron oxide yellow, CdS, chrome yellow and minium (red lead). Organic pigments specified are azo pigments, metal-containing azo pigments, lakes, dioxazines, quinacridones, phthaocyanines, anthraquinones, indigoids, azomethines, and metal complexes of nitrosonaphthols. The preparations are useful in preparing printing inks and lacquers; for example, in Example 19 a pigment dispersion in xylene is combined with a solution of nitrocellulose and a polyacrylic acid butyl ester in butanol and butyl acetate to give a red printing ink.
