<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an insulated bidirectional DC-DC converter, etc. which can successively switch between up-converter and down-converter functions without inserting an interval period. <P>SOLUTION: In an insulated bidirectional Cuk converter which executes charging and discharging to and from a sample, a first switching element disposed on the primary side and a second switching element disposed on the secondary side of a transformer are both driven to switch on or off by synchronous rectification, in either the charging or the discharging case.
