<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging device configured to maintain a stable charged state while preventing contamination of a charging member, regardless of a change in the amount of lubricant to be supplied. <P>SOLUTION: The charging device includes a charging member 70 that uniformly charges a latent image carrier 40 to be supplied with lubricant formed by mixing zinc stearate with boron nitride. The charging device includes a charging cleaning member 77 that can be brought into contact with or separated from the charging member 70. Contact/separation conditions for the charging cleaning member 77 is configured to change the conditions for contact intervals or contact time, so as to reduce the transfer residual toner to be deposited on the charging member 70 according to lubricant consumption. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
