<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader that reads an image of a sheet facing an image sensor by the image sensor, put in a sensor accommodation part, through a contact glass, the image reader being capable of suppressing foreign matter from entering the sensor accommodation part. <P>SOLUTION: An image reader 1 reads an image of a document by an image read part 30 while an ADF unit 10 conveys the document along a document conveyance path R. The image read part 30 is constituted by putting an image sensor 31 in a first sensor accommodation part 40 having an opening on the side of the document conveyance path R, and closing the opening with a glass member 32. The first sensor accommodation part 40 has a wall part 41 at an upstream opening edge, and also has a fitting recessed part 42, fitted with a glass holding member 43, at two places of a downstream opening edge. The glass member 32 comes into tight contact with the wall part 41 by fitting a glass holding member 43 to fitting recessed parts 42 on the downstream opening edge side while an edge of the glass member 32 is brought into contact with the wall part 41. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
