<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic image generation device capable of improving the stereoscopic effect of each subject even in a composition where a write division phenomenon occurs during displaying of a 3D image by a plurality of view point video signals. <P>SOLUTION: A 3D parallax value detection unit 13 detects a parallax value DPT between a left eye image signal and a right eye image signal in a stereoscopic video signal. A stereoscopic degree determination unit 14 determines the stereoscopic degree F of the stereoscopic video signal on the basis of the parallax value DPT. A write division degree determination unit 15 determines a write division degree K on the basis of the parallax value DPT. An image signal conversion unit 16 obtains a pixel shift amount for shifting the pixel of the left eye image signal or the right eye image signal according to the stereoscopic degree F and the write division degree K to shift the pixel by the pixel shift amount.
