<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing a target compound by culturing a microorganism while regulating the condition of oxidation-reduction potential so as to promote the consumption of a raw carbon source and the production of an alkyl diol in a culturing process using a gene-recombinant microorganism having the ability to produce a polyol compound, especially an alkyl diol (e.g., 1,3-propanediol). <P>SOLUTION: The 1,3-propanediol can be produced more efficiently than conventional methods when the aeration condition in the culture is regulated so that the oxidation-reduction potential value in a culture solution is from -10 to 100 mV. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
