<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus, an image forming apparatus, an image processing method, a computer program and a recording medium capable of correcting density unevenness generated in image formation at the time of error diffusion processing in which an error generated in quantizing a pixel value of each pixel of an input image is diffused to peripheral pixels of each pixel. <P>SOLUTION: A density difference of pixels between a case where density unevenness is not generated and a case where density unevenness is generated is associated in advance with correction information for correcting the density difference. Based on such information, a density unevenness correction information calculation section 38 calculates correction information associated with a location of each pixel in an image. Meanwhile, a diffusion coefficient storage section 36 selects a set of diffusion coefficients on the basis of an area identification signal and a random number value, and a diffusion coefficient calculation section 35 corrects the selected diffusion coefficient on the basis of the correction information calculated by the density unevenness correction information calculation section 38.
