<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To write each set value in mode registers of a plurality of semiconductor devices which are connected commonly to a controller. <P>SOLUTION: The semiconductor device includes: a command decoder 82 for activating a mode register setting signal MRS 1, for instance; a latency shifter 83 for delaying the mode register setting signal MRS 1 to generate a mode register setting signal MRS 2; logic gate circuits G2 and G3 for activating a mode register setting signal MRS 3 on the basis of the mode register setting signal MRS 2 when a data signal D0 is in a low level and holding the mode register setting signal MRS 3 in a non-activation state when the data signal D0 is in a high level; and a mode register 84 which is set with a mode signal in response to the activation of the mode register setting signal MRS 3.
