<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring device, when drawing data is displayed on a display screen, displaying a variable ruler according to the scale of the drawing data, and displaying a ruler capable of measuring distances and dimensions at whatever scale the drawing data is displayed. <P>SOLUTION: When a displayed ruler 150 is touched in one location with a finger or pen, the ruler 150 moves within a display screen 51 parallel to the vertical direction or the horizontal direction in accordance with the instruction (movement) of the finger or pen.
