<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam turbine that can stably drive a regulating valve to regulate a steam flow rate for a long period and prevent an opening/closing drive mechanism of the regulating valve from obstructing maintenance work of a bearing. <P>SOLUTION: The steam turbine 10 includes a turbine body 11, a steam flow path 12 which is connected to the turbine body 11 and through which steam flows, the regulating valve 13 to regulate opening/closing of the steam flow path 12 by means of linear movement, and the opening/closing drive mechanism 15 to drive the regulating valve 13. The opening/closing drive mechanism 15 includes an electric motor that rotates when power is supplied, a conversion mechanism that converts the rotational movement of the electric motor to the linear movement of the regulating valve 13, and a brake that is operated by the regenerative energy of the electric motor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
