PURPOSE: A portable terminal and a control method thereof are provided to enable a user to conveniently control the portable terminal with a holography user interface. CONSTITUTION: A holography storage medium records an interference pattern generated by a light interference phenomenon. A holography module(156) outputs a first holography image according to the control of a control unit(180). The first holography image is generated by generating a diffraction phenomenon and the interference pattern with light emitted to a holography storage medium. A sensing unit(140) senses a plurality of alarm signals. The control unit outputs a second holography image with the first holography image in order to notify one or more sensed signals.
