PURPOSE: A device for managing a starting error of a mark pick-up sensor in the starting air distributing system of a heavy engine is provided to effectively operate a heavy engine by flexibly taking actions for notifying the operation failure history of an MP(Mark Pick-up sensor) to the outside. CONSTITUTION: A device(100) for managing a starting error comprises an MP starting error occurrence signal accepting module(103), a timer processing module(104), a cylinder slow-turning requesting module(106), an MP starting error resolution checking module(107), and a cylinder normal operation requesting module(108). The MP starting error occurrence signal accepting module accepts the occurrence information of an MP starting error. The timer processing module operates a timer(105) when determining the starting error occurrence situation of an MP. The cylinder slow-turning requesting module induces the slow-turning of a specific cylinder by producing cylinder slow-turning requesting information for delivering to a controller(2) side with reference to a MP starting error management reference index. The MP starting error resolution checking module checks the starting error resolution of the MPs(41,42,43,44). The cylinder normal operation requesting module requests the normal operation of a cylinder to the controller side when confirming the resolution of the MP starting error.
