<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic for inhibiting melanin production, i.e., skin-whitening cosmetic, based on heat shock protein (HSP) expression-inducing action, characterized by containing an extract from a crude drug (Yabatsui) obtained by drying an aboveground part of Eupatorium lindleyanum. <P>SOLUTION: The cosmetic for inhibiting melanin production is provided, being based on heat shock protein (HSP) expression-inducing action, characterized by containing the extract from the crude drug (Yabatsui) obtained by drying an aboveground part of Eupatorium lindleyanum. This cosmetic contains such a fraction as to specifically express/induce HSP 70, wherein the fraction is obtained by fractionating an alcohol extract of the crude drug through a fractionating operation by any kind of column chromatography including HPLC (high-performance liquid chromatography). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
