METHOD OF MANUFACTURING RADIATION DETECTION MEMBER AND RADIATION DETECTION APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a radiation detection member in which an inexpensive plastic scintillator having a flat plate shape is employed and the plastic scintillator can be surely and readily welded on a light guide.

SOLUTION: The method includes: a laser absorbent application step S2 of applying a laser absorbent on a surface of a plastic scintillator having a flat plate shape which emits a fluorescent light on the basis of an incidence of a radiation, after masking the whole of a radiation incidence face of the plastic scintillator; and a welding step S3 of welding the plastic scintillator on a light guide having a bar shape with laser after disposing the plastic scintillator on each side face of the light guide so that the masked face is oriented upward.
