<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink set which suppresses coating irregularity of a treating liquid and forms an image where roughness is suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: The ink set includes: an ink composition containing a pigment and water; and a treating liquid containing a water-soluble high molecular compound, an organic acidic compound, silicone oil, and water. The silicone oil is dispersed in the treating liquid by a surfactant.
