<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for maintaining a bent shape of a flat cable, capable of lightening the weight of a wire harness and reducing the cost thereof by reducing the number of used components different from the cable such as a protector, a clamp, and the like on the wiring path of the flat cable wired as the wire harness. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of conductors 2 planarly arranged at prescribed intervals are coated with insulating resin coating layers 3 to form the flat cable 1 finished to a beltlike or tape-like appearance shape. In a method for maintaining a bent shape F of a flat cable 1, the flat cable 1 is kept in the bent shape F in conformity with the shape of a bent part of the wiring path, the bent shape F in conformity with the shape of the bent part is formed by folding the flat cable 1 at a bent spot M, and the insulating resin coating layers 3 of the flat cable 1 are thermally fused each other to maintain the bent shape F. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
