PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve alignment accuracy when an image is synthesized.

SOLUTION: A digital camera 1 includes: an estimation part 53 that estimates a composite position by a generation part 58 in a synthetic portion of neighboring image data items in each of image data items serially acquired by an acquisition section 52; a calculation part 54 that calculates the SAD of the pixel values of the image data items in the synthetic portion while shifting pixel data in a predetermined direction in the synthetic portion with the composite position estimated by the estimation part 53 being a reference; an adjustment part 57 that performs adjustment such that the position of image data items at which the SAD value of the pixel values calculated by the calculation part 54 is minimum becomes the composite position; and a generation part 58 that synthesizes the neighboring image data items based on the composite position adjusted by the adjustment part 57 to generate image data of a panoramic image.
