<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly discharge a high voltage side capacitor and a low voltage side capacitor, and prevent an inverter from overheating. <P>SOLUTION: When a system main relay 43 emergently cuts off a battery 36, a lower arm of a step-up converter 40 with an upper arm kept off is switched to cause a charge stored in a low voltage side capacitor 46 to flow to the step-up converter 40, which consumes corresponding power, and when a motor 32 stops rotating, an upper arm of an inverter 34 with a lower arm kept on is switched to cause a charge stored in a high voltage side capacitor 48 to flow to the inverter 34, which consumes corresponding power.
