1,014,310. Guided missiles. BOFORS A.B. Oct. 6, 1964 [Oct. 22, 1963], No. 40769/64. Heading F3A. A wire magazine for a missile or the like which is controlled from a stationary transmitter via electric wires wound off from magazines during flight of the missile, the wire magazine comprising a casing 1 having a funnel-shaped outlet 3 and a spool 5 on which the wire 6 is wound, the spool being so arranged in the casing that the wire is reeled off over one end thereof and the funnel-shaped outlet including a member 9 to deflect the wire toward the axis of the magazine. In the preferred embodiment, two magazines are disposed in the middle portion of the missile close to its shell, the outlets opening at the circumferential surface of the missile. Each magazine is provided with members for connection to electrical guidance means and mechanical means which trigger-off certain functions during flight as the wire is unwound. The member 9 is in the form of a ring which reduces the possibility of wire rupture. |
