FIELD: chemistry.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparation of a composition for obtaining an environmentally safe antifouling film coating which has efficient antifouling action in sea water for a long period of time and also has low dependency of the amount of the dissolved film coating on temperature. The composition for making an antifouling coating contains (A) a copolymer which contains a triorganosilyl ester obtained by mixing (a) a triorganosilyl methacrylate monomer of general formula (1), where R, Rand Rare identical or different and each is an alkyl group having 3-6 carbon atoms, which branched in the ?-position, or a phenyl group; and (b) a methoxyalkyl methacrylate monomer of general formula (2), where Ris an alkylene group having 2-4 carbon atoms, wherein the content of monomer (a) in the mixture is 45-65 wt %, and total content of monomer (a) and monomer (b) in the mixture is 80 wt % or higher, and a copper salt which is at least one substance selected from a group consisting of copper salts of colophony and copper salts of colophony derivatives.
