PURPOSE: A transmission for a vehicle and a method for preventing frequent gear shifting in a neutral controlling process using the same are provided to automatically count the number of times when the neutral controlling determining conditions of the vehicle are satisfied for activating neutral controlling only when the counted number is less than a predetermined number. CONSTITUTION: The number of times when a gear shifting control unit satisfies neutral control conditions is counted(S230). The counted number of the gear shifting control unit is compared with a standard operating number(S250). The gear shifting control unit performs neutral controlling(S260).
