The countertop (1) has a horizontal countertop portion including an upper surface and a lower surface. A set of traverse openings (2) leads to the upper and lower surfaces of the countertop portion at same time. The openings are arranged in a rectangular-shaped insert, and include an upper surface coplanar with the upper surface of the countertop portion. A removable collecting tray (3) is arranged under the openings to recover bread crumbs resulting from cutting and falling through the openings. A maintenance and guidance case maintains and guides the collecting tray in translation.
