PEPTIDES FOR VACCINE AGAINST BIRCH ALLERGY

Compositions comprising peptides derived from Birch pollen allergens are disclosed for use in the testing, prophylaxis and treatment of Birch pollen allergy, preferably by improving immunological tolerance to the Birch pollen antigens. The invention may comprise at least one sequence from each of the allergens Bet v 1 and Bet v 2 or may comprise any three peptides as listed in claim 6. Methods of using the peptide compositions for screening and allergy testing are also disclosed. Six particularly preferred peptide combinations are listed at p57, their corresponding peptide sequences are shown in Table 9-1 on p51 and comprise FNYETETTSVIPAARK, PAARMFKAFILD, PAARMFKAFILEGDKLVPK, PGTIKKISFPEGFPFKYV, SNEIKIVATPEGGSILK, ETLLRAVESYLLAHSDAY, KEMGETLLRAVESYLLAHS, AKYMVIQGEPGRVIRGK and AERERIFKRFDANGEGK.
