<p>This backlight device (12) comprises LEDs (17), a light guide plate (19) having a light entrance surface (19b) and a light exit surface (19a), a light source mounting unit (30) in which a plate member having an L-shaped cross-section, and a chassis (14). The light source mounting unit (30) has a light source arranging plate (31) and a mounting plate (32). The light source arranging plate (31) has a plate surface opposite the light entrance surface (19b), and has LEDs (17) arranged thereon. The mounting plate (32) extends from the light source arranging plate (31) towards the light guide plate (19), and is mounted on the light guide plate (19) so that the light source arranging plate (31) is capable of following the displacement in the light entrance surface (19b). The chassis (14) has a bottom plate (14a) that, together with the light guide plate (19), sandwiches the mounting plate (32); the bottom plate (14a) contacting the plate surface of the mounting plate (32). An engagement part (41) is provided to the bottom plate (14a), the engagement part engaging with the mounting plate (32) so as to allow the mounting plate (32) to move in the direction of displacement of the light entrance surface (19b).</p> |
