<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide catheter-based systems and methods usable for accessing, diagnosing, or treating defects in blood vessels, such as blood vessels of the brain. <P>SOLUTION: A catheter device includes: an axially elongate tubular member comprising an inner lumen 304, an outer surface, a proximal end, and a distal end; an inner liner 202 extending through the lumen of the tubular member and defining the inner lumen of the catheter; an outer cover on the outer surface of the tubular member; and a balloon inflation channel 302 disposed between a metal helix 208 and the inner liner, the tubular member comprising a metal helix having a helical gap, and a polymeric potting material disposed within the helical gap, wherein the polymeric potting material disposed within the helical gap is different from the materials of the inner liner and outer cover. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
