The hoist (1) has a deflection roller for lifting, holding and lowering a lifting load, and a chassis for transporting the load. A lifting load measuring device determines the load, where force flow is produced in a cross member under the effect of the load. The cross member has a supporting profile (7) and supporting partial areas that are deformed relative to each other under the effect of the load. The measuring device has a sensor for receiving measuring parameter characterizing the deformation of the areas, where the received parameter is used during the determination of the load.
