<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To narrow width of retreating space obtained when a print head is made to retreat from a surface of a recording medium, and to reduce a moving area of the print head obtained when the print head is moved between a printing position and a retreating position. <P>SOLUTION: A head moving mechanism 14 of an inkjet printer 1 includes: a monorail mechanism 18 moving a corner part 10a on a home position B side of a carriage 10 on which an inkjet head 11 is mounted along a moving path T1 including a circular-arc shaped path T1b; and a slide guiding mechanism 19 moving a corner part 10b located on a side opposite to the home position B along a linear moving path T2 orthogonal to a conveying direction X. The moving path T1 of the corner part 10a includes a path portion that goes away from the moving path T2 of the corner part 10b toward the home position B side. Therefore, the carriage 10 is rotated with the corner part 10b as a center, which results in the rotation by 90 degrees at the home position B. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
