<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor control apparatus of a paper sheet processing apparatus which enables the diagnosis and adjustment of a sensor without stopping the apparatus, and achieves both apparatus reliability and a high operating ratio. <P>SOLUTION: The control object sensor detects paper sheets passing through a conveyance path. A processing unit performs branch processing or detection processing of the paper sheets that passes the conveyance path upstream of the control object sensor.
