<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple towing coupler that does not accidentally come off from a vehicle body while facilitating attachment/detachment. <P>SOLUTION: The towing coupler includes a socket 1 for being fixed to the rear of the vehicle body, and a hook arm 3 having a hollow connection shank 32. A sliding rod 4 movable between first and second positions along an axial direction is built into the hollow connection shank 32. The sliding rod 4 is retrained in the first position by a lock bolt 8, and urged toward the second position by a spring member 5. The towing coupler also includes a trigger lever 82 that releases the state of making the sliding rod 4 restrained by the lock bolt 8, and a steel ball 6 which protrudes from an outer peripheral surface of one end of the hollow connection shank 32 when the sliding rod 4 put into an unrestrained state is shifted to the second position. A concave portion 11 is formed in a shape corresponding to the steel ball 6, on the inner surface of the socket 1. Engagement between the concave portion 11 and the steel ball 6 disables the hollow connection shank 32 from being pulled out from inside the socket 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
