#CMT# #/CMT# The drum has a pot-shaped base body (10) made of a light metal. A friction body (28) is fastened at a radial inner surface (18) of the base body. Frictional force acts on the friction body during braking. The friction body is connected with the base body by a friction welding process i.e. rotation friction welding process, in material engagement manner. The radial inner surface pointing towards the friction body, and a radial outer surface (32) of the friction body pointing towards the base body are formed in a frustum shape. The rotation friction welding process is easily performed and provides clearance-freedom, thus preventing corrosion of the drum during operation of the drum. The drum has a low weight, and an improved attachment behavior.
