<p>Provided is an image pickup apparatus that makes it possible to alleviate fixed pattern noise that appears in multiple-exposure photography, and attain a high-grade multiple-exposure image. The image pickup apparatus is characterized by: obtaining a plurality of exposure-image data items, by exposing an image pickup element to light and picking up images; carrying out image processing on the plurality of exposure-image data items; generating composite exposure-image data by compositing the plurality of exposure-image data items output by the image processing means; obtaining a plurality of dark image data items, by blocking light to the image pickup element and picking up images; carrying out, on each of the plurality of dark image data items, image processing that is equivalent to the image processing carried out on each of the plurality of exposure-image data items; generating composite dark image data by compositing the plurality of dark image data items output by the image processing means; and correcting the composite exposure-image data on the basis of the composite dark image data.</p> |
