<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separation preventing means capable of reliably preventing separation of a spigot pipe from a socket pipe by securing the sufficient locking length for locking a pawl part to the outer circumferential surface of the spigot pipe, and increasing locking force of the claw part to lock the socket pipe thereby, and also preventing any twist of the spigot pipe and the socket pipe. <P>SOLUTION: The separation preventing means for preventing separation of the spigot pipe from the socket pipe includes a plurality of locking pieces 3 having claw parts 3a, 3a to be locked to the outer circumferential surface of the spigot pipe and arranged along the circumferential direction, and an accommodation recess 4e formed on the socket pipe side where the spigot pipe is inserted and fitted and where each locking piece 3 is accommodated.
