Provided are a line processing unit and a switch fabric system. The line processing unit comprises an FIC and an FE, wherein the FIC is connected to the FE via a first connection wire. The embodiments of the present invention can realize configuration of the LPU and switching ability as required and reduce the cost of initial configuration.
