PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image compensation apparatus and method.

SOLUTION: The image compensation apparatus includes: a power control module which controls a light emitting unit according to a power control input from a user and provides power level reduction information corresponding to the power control input; a control parameter generation module which determines a threshold on the basis of the power level reduction information; an image compensation module which divides input image information according to the determined threshold and converts the input image information according to image control information; and an output module which outputs the converted image information.
