<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for easily and evenly cleaning a center portion of a joining surface of a surface mounting type optical connector. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical connector cleaning tool, an exposed section 11c in which a part of the longitudinal direction of a cleaning tape 11 is exposed from a case 20 incorporated with a tape feed mechanism therein is secured in the cleaning tape 11, the exposed section 11c is extendingly arranged along a slender plate-like tape receiving plate 32a of a tape receiving elastic member 32 supported by the case 20, and the tape receiving elastic member 32 includes a pair of side plate sections 32c extended from both sides of a width direction of the tape receiving plate 32a and includes an extended plate section 32d which is extended to an opposite outer surface side to the side plate section 32c on the mutually opposed opposite side from a tip of each of the side plate sections 32c and is supported by the case 20.
