<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synthesis suitable for the large-scale preparation of a process of an A<SB POS="POST">2A</SB>-adenosine receptor agonist. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a process for the large-scale preparation of the A<SB POS="POST">2A</SB>-adenosine receptor agonist, and to polymorphs of the compound and a method of isolating a specific polymorph. The present invention provides a method of synthesizing (1-ä9-[(4S, 2R,3R,5R)-3,4-dihydroxy-5-(hydroxymethyl)oxolan-2-yl]-6-aminopurin-2-yl}pyrazol-4-yl)-N-methylcarboxamide. Adenosine is a naturally occurring nucleoside, which exerts its biological effects by interacting with a family of adenosine receptors. The family of adenosine receptors is known as A<SB POS="POST">1</SB>, A<SB POS="POST">2A</SB>, A<SB POS="POST">2B</SB>and A<SB POS="POST">3</SB>, all of which modulate important physiological processes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
