<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve controllability to control the rotation phase of a first cam shaft and a second cam shaft to be close to a target phase with respect to a crank shaft, in an internal combustion engine provided with a variable valve mechanism capable of independently changing the rotation phase of the first cam shaft and the second cam shaft arranged coaxially. <P>SOLUTION: A first control gain to be used in a feed back control to control the rotation phase of the first cam shaft and the second cam shaft to be close to a first target rotation phase with respect to a crank shaft, is corrected by a first correction coefficient corresponding to a phase difference between a rotation phase θ<SB POS="POST">1</SB>of the first cam shaft and a rotation phase θ<SB POS="POST">2</SB>of the second cam shaft. A second control gain to be used in the feed back control to control the rotation phase of the second cam shaft to be close to a second target rotation phase with respect to the crank shaft, is corrected by a second correction coefficient corresponding to the control direction (advance side/retard side) of the first cum and the second cum with respect to the crank shaft. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
